Mental Health and Therapy
Following many years of collaborating with systemic therapists Ellen Reijmers and Thomas Fondelli from the Interactie Academie in Antwerp, I have developed professional interest in the topic of mental health and enactive approaches to psychiatry.
I wrote about ASD, metaphors, and role of play therapy. I'm now supervising two PhD students who work on philosophy and mental health: one topic is virtual rape, and another therapy in VR.
In 2023 I have been teaching a course on the Philosophy of Mental Health at the University of Antwerp! It was so popular they asked me to teach it again :)
From 2022, I have been a member of a German DFG project "The role of ambivalence for suicidal agency". A fascinating project that involved collaboration with mental health professionals, and one that resulted in a book chapter by me, Lieke Asma and Sabrina Coninx on "Situated suicidality" - watch this space for preview
